Contour Machining

Users can also do self-defined contour machining with INCAM-M25, including contour pocket, contour side surfacing, and contour cutting machining. To edit the contour, users can use built-in function of INCAM-M25 or import external files. The file importing function supports files with file extension .dxf, .plt, and .cnc. There can only be lines, arcs, and circles in .dxf file; and there can only be G00, G01, G02, and G03 commands in .cnc file.

The self-defined contour must meet all of the following requirements:

  • The contour only contains straight lines, clockwise arcs, and counterclockwise arcs.
  • The points of contour have to be arranged in counterclockwise direction.
  •  It has to be a closed contour. (start point and end point are the same point)
  • There can be more than one contour at the same time, but the contours cannot intersect each other.

When there are more than one contours, the system will generate machining paths depending on the number of included contours. The figure below shows the relationship between contours, the number stands for the number of included contour.

Contour Pocket

In contpur pocket machining, the number of included contour means the area being kept or being machined. If the number of included contour is an even number (including 0), the area in the contour will be machined. If the number of included contour is an odd number, the area in the contour will be kept. The figure below illustrates contour pocket machining, the blue area will be machined while the white area will be kept.

Contour Side Surfacing

In Contour Side Surfacing Edit page, there are Side Surfacing Direction items for users to select the cutting direction. If Outside In is selected, and the number of included contour is an even number (including 0), the system will do side surfacing from the outside of the contour. When the number of included contour is an odd number, the system will do side surfacing from the inside of the contour. On the other hand, if Inside Out is selected, the rule will be contrary. The dotted lines stand for cutting paths in the figure below.

文件動作
